The genre is Children’s Fiction with a 5 star rating at only 99 Cents!

“I just loved this book written for children, based on The Golden Rule. With my love of animals, this was a perfect read for me. I like how the unofficial and beloved councilor of Ballymore , Bartholomew Owl, always seems to remind the others of what is right and what is wrong. The nice part about this is that they listen to him. This will be very easy for children to grasp and with the beautiful illustrations, the children will be delighted.” The Kindle Book Review (Amazon Review)

In the tradition of Wind In The Willows, comes a new family classic — Tales From The Glades Of Ballymore. The setting for the book is the countryside surrounding a large pond somewhere in the British Isles. The year is 1891. The lovable animal residents have the ability to speak and have created a self-sustaining community that has existed for many years. The success of the community is rooted in the caring and sharing they extend to each other.
You are most welcome to join them as they help each other through their many adventures — big and small.
There is Bartholomew, the wise old owl, who watches over everyone including:

Branna Bluebird – the brave, spunky messenger;

Wilde and Wilder Weasel – the mischievous, unofficial security guards;

Finn Frog – whose middle name is “Adventure”;

Grenby – the eccentric, weather forecasting ground hog;

The Chipmunks – who seem to attract trouble wherever they go;

The “Pond Creature”;

and many more.
This is a heartwarming, humorous, and adventurous book of intertwined tales with an underlying theme of “The Golden Rule”. The book is intended for 8-12 year olds but can be appreciated by anyone – young or old. The tales are further enhanced by the beautiful full-color illustrations.
A print version of the book would be over 300 pages.

Dear Reader,

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to write a children’s book. As with most of us, I never had enough time. I retired from my engineering career in 2006, so that excuse evaporated.

Last year the time was right, and Tales From The Glades Of Ballymore began to become a reality. The book is now finished and is published as an eBook. I am hoping for the best.

Tales From The Glades Of Ballymore is a family-friendly book. Although the animals have many adventures, there is no violence. It is heart-warming and humorous. The beautiful illustrations by Karen Ohlinger help bring it to life. The moral basis of the book is The Golden Rule. There aren’t many books like this one written today.

I greatly enjoy reading children’s books as they transport me to a simpler time. Following on that theme, I created a blog called Be A Child Again. There, I publish weekly stories about the animal residents of Ballymore, interview authors, and highlight some wonderful books. Please visit.

Cooking has also become a serious hobby of mine, and when I’m not writing, I can frequently be found in the kitchen.

I appreciate your interest and hope you choose to read Tales From The Glades Of Ballymore. I hope it brings some joy to your life and the lives of your loved ones.

Sincerely,

Bob Brooks

I was born in September 1960 in Southern California and grew up at the beach, making sand castles and playing in the surf. When I was eight years old, my father drove us to Western Washington where we called home.

After working in a trendy advertising agency, I decided to go to law school. “But you’re going to be a writer” are the prophetic words I will never forget from my mother. I was in my third-and final-year of law school and my mom was in the hospital, facing the end of her long battle with cancer. I was shocked to discover that she believed I would become a writer. For the next few months, we collaborated on the worst, most clichéd historical romance ever written.

After my mom’s death, I packed up all those bits and pieces of paper we’d collected and put them in a box in the back of my closet. I got married and continued practicing law.

Then I found out I was pregnant, but was on bed rest for five months. By the time I’d read every book in the house and started asking my husband for cereal boxes to read, I knew I was a goner. That’s when my darling husband reminded me of the book I’d started with my mom. I pulled out the boxes of research material, dusted them off and began writing. By the time my son was born, I’d finished a first draft and found an obsession.

The rejections came, of course, and they stung for a while, but each one really just spurred me to try harder, work more. In 1990, I got “the call,” and in that moment, I went from a young mother with a cooler-than-average hobby to a professional writer, and I’ve never looked back. In all the years between then and now, I have never lost my love of, or my enthusiasm for, telling stories. I am truly blessed to be a wife, a mother, and a writer.

“I just finished Ordinary World. I was a fan of Faking it so I was looking forward to the sequel. Nothing could have prepared me for the powerful emotions I got from this book. I lost my wife last spring after a 6 month illness and I lived so many of the thoughts and emotions Andi was dealing with and I certainly could identify with what she was feeling. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one should read this book and so should anyone else. Ms Lorello really gets it. She has captured the experience of loss like no other author I have read.” –Larry H. Leitner (Amazon Review)

Life is ideal—until her husband’s death in a senseless accident shatters Andi’s world, plunging her into a gulf of depression and grief. Her family and friends do what that they can to ease her anguish, but no one seems to have the right words to heal Andi’s pain. On the advice of a friend, she travels to Italy to escape and unexpectedly runs into the man who once helped her discover her authentic self. As their friendship is renewed, Andi finally begins to heal, daring to hope that someday she will be happy again. Both wrenching and uplifting, Ordinary World is a moving tale of love and loss, joy and sorrow, heartbreak and hope.

“I have to say this is a book I just happened on here but let me tell from the moment I picked up the book I was intrigued. Jenny pulls you right into Mary Kate’s life and it may not be you but it might be just like someone’s life you know. I don’t want to ruin the story line but as I was reading it I felt as if I knew the characters as personal friends and at each turn you just want to know where it is leading you. I didn’t want to put it down for a moment. This is a must read for a lazy summer day on the beach or snuggled up under a blanket in the winter for a nice read…” –D. Trapped in an abusive marriage to an overbearing good ol’ boy, she finally decides break the cycle when she heads out to pick up her husband’s dry cleaning and instead picks up a handsome hitchhiker. They impulsively set off on a road trip of self-discovery, peeling away layers of their dark pasts en route to Niagara Falls, but once there will they take the leap?

Hi! I’m the author of the #1 Kindle bestselling novel SLIM TO NONE; the award-winning novel SLEEPING WITH WARD CLEAVER; the memoir WINGING IT: A MEMOIR OF CARING FOR A VENGEFUL PARROT WHO’S DETERMINED TO KILL ME (Simon Spotlight/March 2010); ANYWHERE BUT HERE; ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE; and WHERE THE HEART IS; as well as the upcoming essay collection NAKED MAN ON MAIN STREET. I also have a short story in Wade Rouse’s fabulous anthology of humorous dog stories, I’M NOT THE BIGGEST BITCH IN THIS RELATIONSHIP that features such authors as Jen Lancaster, Rita Mae Brown, Sarah Pekkanen, and more.

I’ve had pieces appear in Ladies Home Journal, the Washington Post and on NPR’s Day to Day. I joke that I honed my fiction writing skills while working as a publicist for a US Senator. Other jobs I’ve held have included: an orthodontic assistant (learning quite readily that I wasn’t cut out for a career in polyester), a waitress (probably my highest-paying job), a TV reporter, a pre-obituary writer, and a photographer (claim to fame: being hired to shoot Prince Charles–with a camera, silly!). I live in Virginia with my husband, three kids, two dogs, one cat, one rabbit and a gregarious parrot. In my free time I study Italian, dream of traveling to exotic locales, and feel very guilty for rarely attempting to clean the house.

The New York Times bestselling author and master of suspense delivers another novel at the crossroads of politics and medicine in this shocker of a thriller On the night of the State of the Union address, President James Allaire expects to give the speech of his career. But no one anticipates the terrifying turn of events that forces him to quarantine everyone in the Capitol building. A terrorist group calling itself “Genesis” has unleashed WRX3883, a deadly, highly contagious virus, into the building. No one fully knows the deadly effect of the germ except for the team responsible for its development—a team headed by Allaire, himself. The only one who might be able to help is virologist Griffin Rhodes, currently in solitary confinement in a maximum security federal prison for alleged terrorist acts, including the attempted theft of WRX3883 from the lab where he worked. Rhodes has no idea why he has been arrested, but when Allaire offers to free him in exchange for his help combating the virus, he reluctantly agrees to do what he can to support the government that has imprisoned him without apparent cause. Meanwhile, every single person in line for presidential succession is trapped inside the Capitol—every person except one: the Director of Homeland Security, who is safely at home in Minnesota, having been selected as the “Designated Survivor” for this event. With enemies both named and unnamed closing in, and the security of the nation at stake, Griff must unravel the mysteries of WRX3883 without violating his pledge as a scientist to use no animal testing in his experiments…and time is running out. Tense, thrilling, and entirely plausible, A Heartbeat Away will make you reflect, wonder, and be truly afraid.

Two days later, the girl’s body was found, and Molly’s life fell apart. Consumed by guilt for not acting upon her visions, and on the brink of losing her family, Molly escaped the torturous reminders in the city, fleeing to the safety of the close-knit rural community of Boyds, Maryland.

Molly’s life is back on track, her son has begun college, and she and her husband have finally rekindled their relationship. Their fresh start is shattered when a seven-year-old girl disappears from a local park near Molly’s home. Unable to turn her back on another child and troubled by memories of the past, Molly sets out to find her, jeopardizing the marriage she’d fought so hard to hold together. While unearthing clues and struggling to decipher her visions, Molly discovers another side of Boyds, where the residents–and the land itself–hold potentially lethal secrets, and exposes another side of her husband, one that threatens to tear them apart.

The genre is Contemporary Romance with a 4 star rating at only $1.99!

“Fabulous! I was looking for a fun and romantic read after several mind bending books and this book did not disappoint. The humour, delightful romantic tension and engaging characters drew me in instantly and carried me through the entire book. That being said, it is not without substance and it had the perfect tale one would want to spend a few hours with.” –Heather (Amazon Review)

A charming romance about the lives and loves of people in a small Tennessee town. In the tradition of Debbie Macomber.

“Hey, ya’ll. Dixie Ferguson here. I run Ferguson’s Diner in Angel Ridge, Tennessee. Population three hundred forty-five.

It’s a picturesque town in the valley of the Little Tennessee River, established in 1785. In the early days, its first families–the McKays, the Wallaces, the Houstons, the Joneses, and, of course, the Craigs–staked their claims on hundreds of acres of the richest bottom land anyone had ever seen.

After all the years I’ve spent behind the counter at Ferguson’s, I could probably tell ya’ll a story about near everyone in town. But we only have so much time, so I’ll narrow it down to just two for now.

This is a story about coming home. It’s also a story about acceptin’ folks for who they are. You could say it’s a story about Josie Allen, a librarian, and Cole Craig, a handyman, but I say it’s a story about finding love where you’d least expect to.”

Born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee-that’s in the upper eastern tip of the state-Deborah Grace Staley is the youngest of four children. Since there were not a lot of neighborhood children to play with and no siblings close in age, she learned to amuse herself by creating stories that played out in her head. For some reason, she never gave a thought to committing them to paper.

A painfully slow reader, Deborah decided if she was going to earn a college degree, her reading speed would have to improve. So the summer before she entered King College in Bristol, Tennessee, she went to her local library and checked out a variety of books. She fell in love with Harlequins. By the end of the summer, she was reading a book a day written by classic romance authors such as Anne Mather and Carole Mortimer.

After earning her degree, she tried out a couple of careers before she settled into being a paralegal. Meanwhile, she kept reading romance while her own stories kept spinning around in her head, but now were demanding to be written. With a degree in French, she had no idea how to write a novel. So, she took three novel writing courses at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and got started. Four years and one baby later, with one completed book in hand, she began submitting, joined Romance Writers of America and began attending conferences for romance writers.

Deborah never sold that first book she wrote, and it took nine years before her dream of being a published romance novelist became a reality. Still, she never doubted that it would happen when the time was right. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1.

Today, Deborah has retired from the life of a paralegal and as a Disability Support Specialist and Transcriber to write full-time. Married to her college sweetheart, they make their home on five acres in Maryville, Tennessee in a circa 1867 farmhouse with gingerbread trim that has Angel’s Wings. She has one son in college whom she loves to watch play baseball.

Now that her stories are out of her head and on paper, she’s so thankful for the opportunity to share them with readers! She’d love to hear from you via e-mail at deborahgracestaley@aol.com or via snail mail at P.O. Box 672, Vonore, Tennessee, 37885. Include an SASE and she’ll send you a bookmark and autographed bookplate.

The genre is Thriller with a 5 star rating at only 99 Cents!

“This book takes us on a wonderful journey through present day Ireland. What starts out as a crime thriller quickly evolves into a literary festival beyond the boundary of genres. In following the characters through their personal journeys, we are presented a powerful mosaic of contemporary Ireland. With thrills, comedy and romance, this book never fails to engage and entertain. Definitely the product of a living bard.” –P.D. Allen (Amazon Review)

‘Belfast Girls’ is the story of three girls – Sheila, Phil and Mary – growing up into the new emerging post-conflict Belfast of money, drugs, high fashion and crime; and of their lives and loves.

Sheila, a supermodel, is kidnapped. Phil is sent to prison. Mary, surviving a drug overdose, has a spiritual awakening.

It is also the story of the men who matter to them -

John Branagh, former candidate for the priesthood, a modern Darcy, someone to love or hate. Will he and Sheila ever get together? Davy Hagan, drug dealer, ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know’. Is Phil also mad to have anything to do with him?

Although from different religious backgrounds, starting off as childhood friends, the girls manage to hold onto that friendship in spite of everything.

A book about contemporary Ireland and modern life. A book which both men and women can enjoy – thriller, romance, comedy, drama – and much more ….

The genre is Thriller with a 5 star rating at only 1.99!

“The Consultant,” is filled the usual suspects, written in a nonconforming manner. There’s the handsome reformed hero, a bevy of beautiful woman, an over-abundance of bad guys, and of course what thriller would be complete without sexy sports cars and car chases. In one memorable chapter, I was brought to tears when an exquisite red Mustang was destroyed in an explosive high-speed collision. Great writing! The story often read like a movie, and I have no doubt that Clint Eastwood, in his prime, would have bought the rights to play the lead in movie version of “The Consultant.” After devouring both “The Consultant” and “Vigilante,” I look forward to Claude Bouchard taking me with him on his next adventurous ride.” –Dee Marie (Amazon Review)

Murderers, drug lords, biker gangs, kidnappers… None stand a chance against… The Consultant.

Claude was born in Montreal, Canada, where he still resides with his spouse, Joanne as well as the rulers of the household, Krystalle and Midnight, their cats. He completed his studies in human resources, accounting and management at McGill University and worked in various management capacities in the fields of HR and finance for a handful of firms for too many years.
His first stab at writing was in 1995, the result being his first novel, Vigilante. This was subsequently followed by The Consultant (1996), Mind Games (1997), The Homeless Killer (2009) and 6 Hours 42 Minutes (2011) all part of the Barry/McCall Series born from Vigilante. He has recently completed ASYLUM (2011) which is not in the series and is currently working on Discreet Activities, the sixth Barry/McCall crime thriller.
When Claude isn’t writing or editing his work, he spends his time making noise with his guitars, painting in oil and watercolour, reading, traveling (budget permitting) and planning to work out.
